Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Jennifer Tate-Brasseaux, O.D., L.L.C the leading provider of vision care products and services in Opelousas.

Dr. Jennifer Tate-Brasseaux

Dr. Jennifer Tate-Brasseaux was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Dr. Richard Tate and Mary Beth Tate. She has three sisters: Jaqueline Henson N.P, Rachael Tate-Burnell M.D., and Rebecca Richard P.A. She received her high school diploma in 1998 from Opelousas Catholic High School. She married Andre Brasseaux, of Carencro in 2000. She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and graduated, with honors, in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She then attended and received her doctorate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham Optometry school 2007.

In 2007, Dr. Tate-Brasseaux moved back home to Louisiana, with her husband and son, Aaron, and currently resides in Carencro. She worked in an Ophthalmology group practice, LaHaye Total Eyecare for two years. She then started her solo practice, Family Eye Care, in 2009. She has been a Vision Source Member since 2013. She became board certified with the American Board of Optometry in 2016. She has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 2003 and the Optometry Association of Louisiana since 2007. In 2019, Dr. Tate-Brasseaux became a Vision Source Administrator for the state of Louisiana.

In her free time, Dr. Tate-Brasseaux is an avid reader and enjoys bicycling. She loves being so close to her childhood home, as family is extremely important to her. She takes pride in treating her office team and patients as if they were family.
